At times, mediators encounter parties and issues that invoke a strong emotional response in themselves. This response, if not filtered properly, can impede a mediator’s ability to effectively manage the process because credibility and neutrality can be compromised. During this interactive session, the presenters and participants will share their experiences mediating challenging cases and identify techniques to assist them when they are emotionally pulled into the conflict. This program is appropriate for new mediators and advanced practitioners.
