What is the difference between good mediators and great mediators? All good mediators know how to optimize their use of the process to move the parties toward resolution; but how do good mediators evolve into great ones? The secret to becoming a great mediator is to understand “bloopers happen, recover quickly.” Since all mediators make mistakes, the key is to develop strategies for a swift recovery to keep the mediation on track. The presenters will use scenarios to illustrate the seven most common mediation mistakes and demonstrate recovery strategies. Through role plays, participants will learn the art of recovering from common mediation bloopers and follies and acquire the necessary skills to become a great mediator!
